Chainstack launches complete Avalanche support accelerating performance and customizability

We are thrilled to welcome Avalanche to our platform and to announce that Avalanche’s smart contract platform for digital assets and decentralized applications (DApps) is now fully supported. What is Avalanche?

Avalanche is the fastest smart contracts platform in the blockchain industry, as measured by time-to-finality. It is blazingly fast, low cost, and eco-friendly. It is compatible with the Ethereum smart contracts and tooling, enabling Ethereum users and developers to quickly access high-performance DApps.

Since launching in September 2020, Avalanche is one of the fastest organically growing ecosystems in crypto. The Avalanche network can achieve high throughput, estimated to reach over 4500 transactions per second. Transactions are finalized in under a second while being able to scale to unprecedented levels of decentralization consisting of tens of thousands of nodes, even upwards to a million nodes—all participating in consensus at the same time. Lightweight and sustainable, the protocol allows for high transactions per second (TPS) throughput while having low latency, and consumes extremely little energy, switching to a low-energy-consumption state when there is no activity.

Building on Avalanche

Avalanche is a platform of platforms, ultimately consisting of thousands of subnets to form a heterogeneous interoperable network of many blockchains that takes advantage of the revolutionary Avalanche consensus to provide a secure, globally distributed, interoperable, and trustless framework offering unprecedented decentralization. Avalanche allows anyone to create their own tailor-made application-specific blockchains, supporting multiple custom virtual machines such as the EVM, WASM, Bitcoin VM, Privacy VM, and more. This virtual machine can then be deployed on a custom blockchain network, called a subnet, which consists of a dynamic set of validators working together to achieve consensus on the state of a set of many blockchains where complex rulesets can be configured to meet regulatory compliance. The primary subnet consists of three blockchains currently, the X-Chain, P-Chain, and the C-Chain.

The C-Chain uses the Ethereum Virtual Machine and is compatible with all key Ethereum tooling that has fueled decentralized finance’s (DeFi) growth to date, working seamlessly with Solidity and the widely used dev tools such as MetaMask, web3.js, Remix, Truffle Suite, Embark, and so on. The Avalanche and Ethereum interoperability allow assets to be exchanged across ecosystems and projects to extend their user base by expanding across various ecosystems. On Avalanche, transaction costs are rarely more than a few cents; even complex computations are executed consistently within the dollar range.

The Growth plan provides 8M requests and the Business plan provides 20M requests. Unlimited requests are available on all dedicated nodes deployed starting on the Business plan.
