Chainstack introduces Stellar support

We’re excited to announce that Chainstack now supports Stellar — a payments-focused Layer 1 with native JSON-RPC APIs and Soroban smart contracts. Starting today, you can deploy production-ready Stellar nodes on Chainstack as Global or Dedicated deployments, on both Mainnet and Testnet.

Why build on Stellar?

Stellar is a payments-focused Layer 1 blockchain launched in 2015 by the Stellar Development Foundation. Like XRP Ledger, it treats payments as the core primitive rather than one workload among many — but Stellar pairs that with Soroban, a full smart-contract platform, giving builders native payment rails and programmable logic on the same chain.

  • Payments as the core primitive: the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) reaches ledger close in roughly 5 seconds, with sub-cent transaction fees and native path payments and offers routed through a built-in decentralized exchange — no smart contract required for a basic currency swap.
  • Soroban smart contracts: Rust-based, WASM-executed contracts sit alongside the native payment layer, so escrows, DeFi protocols, and RWA logic can be built without leaving Stellar’s payments-native security model.
  • Battle-tested since 2015: over a decade of continuous production operation, secured by a federated network of validators who each choose their own trusted quorum — no single global validator list to coordinate.
  • Native, not EVM: Stellar exposes its own JSON-RPC API via stellar-rpc rather than the Ethereum eth_* interface. Methods like getLedgers, getLedgerEntries, sendTransaction, and simulateTransaction match how Stellar and Soroban actually work. Note that stellar-rpc has no WebSocket listener — all access is JSON-RPC over HTTPS.

For developers, Stellar is the on-ramp to a chain built for cross-border settlement and remittances from day one, with Soroban available the moment you need more than a native payment operation.

Build better with Stellar on Chainstack

Running Stellar on Chainstack gives you reliable access and predictable performance for payment integrations, remittance flows, Soroban contract deployment, and onchain analytics. Chainstack provides:

  • Global Nodes — geo-balanced RPC endpoints for scalable, low-latency access to Stellar Mainnet and Testnet
  • Dedicated Nodes — isolated stellar-core infrastructure across all Chainstack locations for teams that need single-tenant nodes in a specific region
  • Full stellar-rpc method coveragegetHealth, getNetwork, getVersionInfo, getLatestLedger, getLedgers, getLedgerEntries, sendTransaction, getTransaction/getTransactions, simulateTransaction, getEvents, and getFeeStats
  • JSON-RPC over HTTPS — no WebSocket endpoint on this client, so every integration talks to a single HTTPS URL rather than juggling separate subscription infrastructure

How to get started with Stellar on Chainstack

Screenshot 2026 08 24 At 14.50.20 logo
  1. Log in to the Chainstack console (or create an account)
  2. Create a new project
  3. Select Stellar as your blockchain protocol
  4. Choose Mainnet or Testnet, and pick Global for shared geo-balanced access or Dedicated for isolated resources
  5. Deploy the node
  6. Open Access and credentials and copy your HTTPS endpoint

Bringing it all together

With support for Stellar, Chainstack extends its infrastructure coverage into one of the longest-running payments-native blockchains in Web3 — now with Soroban smart contracts alongside the native payment rails. Whether you’re building payment rails, remittance flows, or Soroban-based DeFi and RWA products, Chainstack provides the low-latency, production-grade RPC infrastructure to scale with confidence.
