Chainstack introduces XRP Ledger support

We’re excited to announce that Chainstack now supports XRP Ledger — a payments-focused Layer 1 with native JSON-RPC and WebSocket APIs. Starting today, you can deploy production-ready XRP Ledger nodes on Chainstack as Global, Dedicated, or Self-Hosted deployments, on both Mainnet and Testnet.

Why build on XRP Ledger?

XRP Ledger is one of the longest-running production blockchains in Web3, designed from line one for payments and cross-border settlement. Where general-purpose chains treat payments as one workload among many, XRP Ledger inverts the model — payments are the core primitive, and every other feature is built around low-latency, low-cost value transfer.

  • Payments as the core primitive: 4-6 second consensus, sub-cent transaction cost, and native support for path-finding across order books and AMMs. XRP Ledger doesn’t compete for blockspace with NFTs, games, or general-purpose DeFi — it stays focused on value movement.
  • Battle-tested since 2012: Over a decade of continuous production operation across billions of transactions, secured by 120+ validators from universities, exchanges, and businesses worldwide. Longevity is a feature.
  • Built-in DEX and path-finding: XRPL ships a native decentralized exchange with automatic path-finding across order books — no smart contract or third-party liquidity venue required. Currency-to-currency payments route through the DEX transparently.
  • Native, not EVM: XRP Ledger uses its own JSON-RPC and WebSocket API rather than the Ethereum eth_* interface. Methods like account_info, account_tx, submit, book_offers, and ledger are first-class citizens — the API surface matches how XRPL actually works, not how EVM chains work.

For developers, XRP Ledger is the on-ramp to a chain where the payments infrastructure is the protocol, not an application built on top of it.

Build better with XRP Ledger on Chainstack

Running XRP Ledger on Chainstack gives you reliable access and predictable performance for any workload — from payment integrations and DEX applications to remittance flows and onchain analytics. Chainstack provides:

  • Global Nodes — geo-balanced RPC endpoints for scalable, low-latency access to XRP Ledger Mainnet and Testnet
  • Dedicated Nodes — isolated rippled infrastructure across all Chainstack locations (Ashburn, Frankfurt, London, Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Dallas) for teams that need single-tenant nodes in a specific region
  • Self-Hosted — run xrpld in full mode on your own infrastructure with Chainstack orchestration, monitoring, and one-click deployment

  • Full XRPL method coverageaccount_info, account_tx, tx, ledger, submit, book_offers, server_info, and the rest of the public XRPL API
  • JSON-RPC over HTTPS and WebSocket — HTTPS endpoints for standard queries, WSS for real-time subscription and streaming (XRPL subscription methods are WebSocket-only)

How to get started with XRP Ledger on Chainstack

  1. Log in to the Chainstack console (or create an account)
  2. Create a new project
  3. Select XRP Ledger as your blockchain protocol
  4. Choose Mainnet or Testnet, and pick Global for shared geo-balanced access, Dedicated for isolated resources, or Self-Hosted to deploy on your own infrastructure
  5. Deploy the node
  6. Open Access and credentials and copy your HTTPS and WebSocket endpoints

Bringing it all together

With support for XRP Ledger, Chainstack extends its infrastructure coverage into one of the most established production blockchains in Web3 — and the one most explicitly built for payments infrastructure. Whether you’re building payment rails, remittance flows, DEX integrations, or any product that touches XRPL, Chainstack provides the low-latency, production-grade RPC infrastructure to scale with confidence.
