Chainstack introduces Ink Global Nodes support

We’re excited to announce that Ink Mainnet is now available on Global Nodes. Ink is an Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP Stack, incubated by Kraken and part of the Optimism Superchain, and it has been available on Chainstack as Dedicated Nodes. You can now also deploy Ink Mainnet on shared, geo-balanced Global Nodes, with archive data, plus debug_* and trace_* APIs on paid plans.

Why build on Ink?

Ink is an Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP Stack and part of the Optimism Superchain. Its own site describes it as built by the team behind Kraken and aimed at being the house of DeFi for the Superchain, which fits what builders actually deploy there: Ethereum-native DeFi protocols, trading applications, and consumer crypto products that need low fees and fast confirmation without leaving the Ethereum security model.

  • OP Stack and the Superchain: Ink settles to Ethereum through the OP Stack and shares its stack and tooling with Optimism, Base, and other Superchain chains.
  • One-second blocks, ETH for gas: Ink produces a block about every second under chain ID 57073, and transaction fees are paid in ETH.
  • Full EVM compatibility: Solidity and Vyper contracts, ethers.js, viem, Foundry, and Hardhat work on Ink without modification.
  • Built for DeFi: the chain’s focus is lending, trading, and liquidity applications, in an ecosystem incubated by Kraken.

For developers, Ink behaves like any OP Stack chain: standard JSON-RPC and standard contracts, plus one OP-specific detail. Every transaction pays an L1 data fee on top of L2 gas, so eth_estimateGas alone understates the total cost. See the Ink tooling guide for the fee estimation helpers.

Build better with Ink on Chainstack

Running Ink Mainnet on Chainstack gives you reliable access and predictable performance for DeFi applications, trading infrastructure, indexers, and consumer apps. Chainstack provides:

  • Global Nodes — geo-balanced RPC endpoints for scalable, low-latency access to Ink Mainnet
  • Archive data — Global Nodes serve Ink Mainnet in archive mode, so historical state and logs are available without a separate node
  • Debug and trace on paid plans — debug_* and trace_* namespaces, served by the op-reth execution client, for transaction replay and call tracing
  • Dedicated Nodes — still available for isolated op-reth infrastructure in Full or Archive mode when you need single-tenant resources and more control over node configuration
  • Standard Ethereum JSON-RPC — HTTPS and WebSocket endpoints that work with any EVM toolchain you already use

Ink Mainnet is the only Ink network on Chainstack. There is no Ink testnet in the console.

How to get started with Ink on Chainstack

Screenshot 2026 10 06 At 11.58.19 logo
  1. Log in to the Chainstack console (or create an account)
  2. Create a new project
  3. Select Ink as your blockchain protocol
  4. Choose Mainnet and Global Node
  5. Deploy the node
  6. Open Access and credentials and copy your HTTPS and WebSocket endpoints

Want the details first? See the Ink tooling guide for MetaMask, ethers.js, viem, web3.py, Foundry, and Hardhat setup, and the debug and trace APIs page for what is available on Ink.

Bringing it all together

With Ink Mainnet now on Global Nodes alongside Dedicated Nodes, Chainstack extends its OP Stack coverage to Kraken’s DeFi-focused Layer 2. Whether you’re building lending and trading products, indexing onchain activity, or running consumer apps on Ink, Chainstack provides the archive-capable, production-grade RPC infrastructure to scale with confidence.
