zkSync Era

zkSync Era is a user-focused, EVM-compatible protocol secured by zero-knowledge proofs, offering scalable and cost-efficient solutions for large-scale applications.

Fault tolerance

Tied to the finality and security of the underlying L1 Ethereum chain. There is a delay of ~21 hours for L1 finality as a security measure during alpha.

Performance

Depends on the Ethereum mainchain for publishing and verification. Transactions on the L2 chain are processed right away and added to blocks, which are generated immediately. Once fully decentralized, block time will take a couple of seconds.

Industry use case

Secure, scalable, and cost-efficient large-scale DeFi, NFT, and GameFi DApps.
