Learn more about Tempo
What is Tempo?

Tempo is a Layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for payment use cases and stablecoin-native activity. It delivers high throughput, low-cost transactions with sub-second finality and full Ethereum-compatible tooling, while letting developers pay gas in stablecoins instead of a native token.

How do I get a Tempo RPC endpoint?

To access a Tempo RPC endpoint on Chainstack, submit the request form available on this page. Once your request is reviewed and approved, the Chainstack team will provision a dedicated Tempo Testnet RPC node and share the HTTPS and WebSocket endpoints with you.

How do I use Tempo RPC to interact with the network?

Tempo RPC nodes expose the standard JSON-RPC API used in Ethereum tooling. Connect your application or wallet to the RPC endpoint to read chain data, send transactions, and interact with contracts. Tempo supports standard Ethereum RPC methods plus its payment-native extensions. To test with stablecoins, developers can request test funds via the Tempo faucet.

Does Tempo use a native token?

Tempo does not have a native gas token. Transaction fees are paid in stablecoins using Tempo’s Fee AMM and TIP-20 token standard. This lets developers and users pay fees in USD-denominated stablecoins without needing to hold a separate token.

Is the Tempo RPC API the same as Ethereum’s?

Yes. Tempo’s RPC API supports all standard Ethereum JSON-RPC methods so you can use familiar libraries and tools. It also exposes extra features for payments and stablecoin flows specific to Tempo.

What are the uptime and performance guarantees?

We offer a 99.99%+ uptime SLA on our dedicated Tempo RPC nodes, backed by enterprise-grade infrastructure optimized for low-latency and high-throughput performance.

How long does it take to activate access after submitting a request?

You will receive your connection credentials after our support team processes your request, which typically takes 1–2 business days.

Can I monitor usage and performance metrics of my node?

Yes, we provide a user dashboard with real-time metrics, including request counts, latency, and system health, allowing you to monitor and optimize your usage.

Notes for Tempo API

Developers building on Tempo can connect through dedicated Tempo RPC infrastructure provided by Chainstack. Tempo RPC endpoints offer reliable access to blockchain data and transaction execution on the Tempo Testnet, with isolated resources and predictable performance.

Tempo is fully EVM compatible, and its RPC interface supports standard Ethereum JSON-RPC methods. This makes it easy to deploy and interact with smart contracts, integrate existing tooling, and build applications using familiar Ethereum workflows.

Using a Tempo RPC endpoint, developers can connect via popular libraries such as ethers.js or web3.py. Whether you are building wallets, payment flows, analytics tools, or protocol integrations, Tempo RPC node simplifies communication with the network while maintaining stability and reliability throughout development and testing.
