Elysium

Elysium is a high-throughput Arbitrum Orbit Layer 2 that settles to HyperEVM, runs co-located with HyperCore, and uses HYPE as native gas.

Performance

Elysium targets 100–200 ms block times and a 300 Mgas/s execution ceiling — roughly 100x HyperEVM’s own throughput. Transactions reach perceived finality in about 300 ms. Native gas is HYPE, bridged 1:1 from HyperEVM. Testnet (chain ID 99801) has been live since September 22, 2026; mainnet is pre-launch with no confirmed date.

Industry use case

Elysium is purpose-built for high-frequency trading and professional market-making inside the Hyperliquid ecosystem, with quote refreshes up to 5–10 times a second. The chain is general-purpose EVM underneath, so any standard DeFi application runs on it too.

What’s next?

Consensus

Arbitrum Orbit (Nitro/ArbOS) chain with a single Conduit-operated sequencer ordering transactions by priority fee with no privileged lanes. The chain settles to HyperEVM rather than Ethereum, and data availability runs through an AnyTrust committee (currently a single member on testnet).

Public / Private / Permissioned

Public and permissionless for users and developers. Validation is permissioned at launch, with a planned move to permissionless fraud proofs (Arbitrum BoLD), and sequencing is run by a single operator (Conduit).

Smart contracts

Yes

Smart contract language(s) supported

Solidity and Vyper, fully EVM-compatible — stock ArbOS at launch, the same contract environment as any other Arbitrum Orbit chain.

Transaction privacy

No native transaction privacy. Transactions, balances, and contract state are publicly readable onchain.

Transaction visibility

Public. Transactions are queryable through the RPC and the Elysium testnet explorer.

Transaction ordering

Single sequencer. Transactions are ordered by priority fee within each block, with no privileged lanes for any transaction type — a quote update and a swap compete on the same fee basis.
