The result is a hexadecimal ETH balance in wei. One ETH equals 10^18 wei. This read-only request does not spend ETH.

En savoir plus sur Linea
What is Linea RPC?

Linea RPC is the Ethereum-compatible JSON-RPC interface applications use to read Linea blockchain data, call smart contracts, and submit signed transactions. Linea is an Ethereum Layer 2 zkEVM rollup. It executes transactions on L2 and settles on Ethereum using validity proofs. See the official Linea documentation.

How do I get a free Linea RPC endpoint?

Create a free Chainstack account, create a project, and deploy a Linea Global Node on mainnet. Open Access and credentials to copy your endpoint. The Developer plan includes 3 million request units per month, up to 25 requests per second, and one node. No credit card is required.

What is the Linea mainnet RPC URL?

Your authenticated HTTPS URL follows https://linea-mainnet.core.chainstack.com/YOUR_ENDPOINT_ID. Copy the complete URL from your node’s Access and credentials and replace the example endpoint ID with your own. Linea mainnet uses chain ID 59144. See the Chainstack Linea setup guide.

What are the Linea mainnet and Sepolia chain IDs?

Linea mainnet uses chain ID 59144 (0xe708). Linea Sepolia uses 59141 (0xe705). Both networks use ETH for gas, but testnet ETH cannot pay mainnet fees. Chainstack’s current Linea deployment catalog lists mainnet, not Sepolia. Check official network information.

Which tools and connection types work with Chainstack Linea RPC?

Use MetaMask, ethers.js, viem, web3.py, Hardhat, or Foundry with your Linea endpoint. HTTPS supports normal JSON-RPC calls; use your WSS endpoint for supported subscriptions such as new blocks and contract logs. Configure the correct RPC URL and chain ID before signing transactions. Follow the Linea tooling guide.

How do I check an ETH balance on Linea?

Call eth_getBalance with an address and a block tag such as latest. The result is a hexadecimal amount in wei, with 10^18 wei per ETH. This reads ETH held on Linea, not the address’s Ethereum-mainnet balance or ERC-20 token balances. See the Linea eth_getBalance reference.

Does Chainstack provide Linea archive data?

Yes. Chainstack lists full and archive modes for Linea Global Nodes on mainnet. Archive access is available from the Growth plan and supports historical state queries, such as balances and contract calls at earlier blocks. Archive requests consume 2 request units. See supported networks and modes and request-unit rules.

Can I debug Linea transactions through Chainstack?

Yes. Linea Global Nodes on paid plans expose debug APIs for transaction execution analysis. Use methods such as debug_traceTransaction to inspect internal calls and investigate reverted transactions. Available methods and tracers depend on the node client. See Linea debug API availability.

Does Linea use ETH or LINEA for gas?

Linea uses ETH to pay transaction fees. The LINEA token is not the gas currency. Fund the address on the same network where you submit the transaction, and estimate fees before signing. See official Linea connection settings and gas-fee guidance.

Is a successful Linea transaction receipt the same as Ethereum finality?

No. A successful receipt shows that a transaction executed successfully on Linea. Linea distinguishes L2 soft finality from hard finality after the relevant batch is finalized on Ethereum. Bridge, settlement, and withdrawal workflows should track the finality level they require rather than treating the first receipt as L1 settlement. See Linea transaction finality.

How much does Linea RPC cost on Chainstack?

Start with the free Developer plan. Paid plans start at $40 per month with annual billing. Standard full requests consume 1 request unit; archive and debug or trace requests consume 2. Unlimited Node adds flat-fee capacity from the Growth plan. Dedicated Nodes start from Pro, with infrastructure billed separately. See plan features and current Linea node configurations.

Can I use Linea Sepolia, and where can I get testnet ETH?

Linea Sepolia is the public test network with chain ID 59141. Chainstack’s current Linea catalog supports mainnet only, so use the providers listed in Linea’s documentation for Sepolia. Follow the official testnet-funding guide to obtain ETH for development. Chainstack’s faucet portal does not currently list Linea Sepolia. See Linea Sepolia connection options et testnet ETH sources.

Linea RPC API: mainnet URLs, chain ID, and methods

Connect to Chainstack’s Linea mainnet HTTPS endpoint using Ethereum-compatible JSON-RPC. Read ETH balances with eth_getBalance, call contracts with eth_call, retrieve event logs with eth_getLogs, and submit signed transactions with eth_sendRawTransaction. Linea mainnet uses chain ID 59144 and ETH for gas. Use MetaMask, ethers.js, viem, web3.py, Hardhat, or Foundry with your authenticated endpoint. See the Linea tooling guide et official JSON-RPC reference.

Use archive access for historical contract state and balances, and paid-plan debug APIs to inspect execution. Full requests consume 1 request unit; archive and debug or trace requests consume 2. Linea transaction execution and Ethereum settlement are separate stages: a successful L2 receipt does not by itself establish hard finality on L1. See Linea debug API availability and Linea finality guidance.
